I’ve picked strawberries. I didn’t get back pain. The secret is to get into a strawberry fight with someone on the next row. If you throw and dodge strawberries, you don’t get hurt. It’s a professional secret. It also, just FYI, can get you fired if the grower catches you doing it.
I recommend something in the bramble family like raspberries and blackberries. The picking is easier because they grow taller (less bending) but watch out for any stinging nettles growing nearby…ow.
