Bahahahaha! I’m getting ready to move half a block away at the end of the month. I’m loathing it already and I haven’t packed a single thing.

Thanks for that one, Doug!
I myself am just moving right now, and that’s exactly how I feel: I’m sick of it. But I wouldn’t even remember where I put that stupid gas can…

Isn’t it always that way? I moved twice in two years and by the second actually just chucked unopened boxes into the dumpster. So, yeah I recommend starting fresh…but not with gasoline @ $4.00 a gallon. Just have the movers (or your friends chuck all your stuff into garbage–it’s cheaper and avoids the arson charge!
I feel your pain. I’m moving too.. thanks for giving me such a great idea though!

Lesson learned: Always label the boxes.
Good one.

My sympathies go out to you, Doug. I’ve found that moving is also one good way to find out how close to a divorce you can come. My DH’s packing methods and mine are very, very different. 5 years later, I still can’t find stuff! >:-(

Hey Doug - I have also been moving, from a 2700+ sq ft house into a 938 sq ft apartment. I feel your pain, as you apparently feel mine (I thought you were reading my mind when I saw today’s comic!!!!). Hope you get settled soon.

As a guy who will be moving very soon, yesterday’s and today’s comics come very close to home!
i loved as a child to sit in boxes.
i probably still would, only the
boxes seem to be a lot smaller now.

We just moved last weekend, and a friend sent me this link. Great comic, perfectly executed.
I’ve been thinking of nothing else for over a week, trying to find ways to “lose” our extra junk, or have it “stolen”. It’s almost as much trouble to get rid of it as it would be to keep it!
At least now I can see the humor in it. Thanks.

I’m about to move in 2 months, I suspect I too shall come to join you in chicken moving hell….
Got 2 small kids, 3 horses and 5 cats to get 1000 miles, in addition to moving all of my CRAP! Dumpsters and fire are both sounding good right now!

I’m about to close box #57 and I now know I will break my record of 60 boxes moved when coming back from Florida. And all this after throwing away about 100 lbs of pictures, slides and negatives, which I am tired of lugging around when all the important pictures are on my hard drives. Still, pangs of regret were felt while watching thousands of dollars worth of film and prints float away into the compactor. I really did think I had added more junk these last almost 5 years. I long to be free of material things, but only when I move.
