Isn’t that a great trade off for the excellent fish belly tan?
    heh

    Dude, that is totally tubular!

  8. Zork on February 25th, 2009 6:00 am

I second that motion, they are really harsh on skin tones, especially in the winter. And I’d be willing to bet they lead directly to both physical illness and depression. Open the blinds, people! Even some gray daylight is better than no daylight–for mind and body…vitamin D for your mind, and UV rays to help kill germs on your desk.

(Although then there is the problem of window glare on your computer screen…sigh.)

Now I know why we leave them off in the design department. They can suck the creativity right out of you!

Every day of your life…. they drain your SOUL!!!!

    FEAR their glow…

  12. leigh on February 25th, 2009 7:32 am

this reminds me of the scene in Joe Vs. the Volcano! “SUCK, SUCK, SUCK!!!”

halfa: dooood.. i totally LOVED Day of the Tentacle!!

  15. sue adams on February 25th, 2009 9:50 am

So true So true I can feel their draining pull now

  16. Sharilyn on February 25th, 2009 9:51 am

oh my gosh! i LOVE this one!! it reminds me of the movie “Joe VS the Volcano” where his very essence is being sucked out by a terrible (really!!) office environment–and horrific fluourescent lights! : ) this is brilliant, doug!

  17. Doug on February 25th, 2009 10:00 am

@leigh: wasn’t that on Spaceballs, not Joe vs. the Volcano. Could be wrong.

Either way, that explains why life at the office has destroyed what little intelligence I had…sigh.

  18. Dinana on February 25th, 2009 10:49 am

They look like cigarettes…which would also work!

  19. Luwano on February 25th, 2009 11:07 am

There have been signs…. but we did not regard it…. maybe we didn’t want to….

@Doug: your intelligence has been destroyed? who draws this brilliant cartoons for you then? or are they a result of this?

    &=^

  20. Doug (but not that Doug) on February 26th, 2009 5:08 am

@Luwano: Um, different Doug, sorry. I just *read* the comic

  21. Luwano on February 26th, 2009 8:07 pm

Oh, I should hover over the Doug-link before I post….

But… erm…. who writes this funny comments if your intelligence has been destroyed?

    &=^

I think he may have been referencing “The Day of the Triffids” by John Wyndham. Excellent book and author. Fluorescence this! :D
