Okay, the Ookpik was cute, but I made the mistake of looking up "poutine" on Wikipedia. They had f-ing PICTURES! Ooofah! Your people eat this stuff???? So... this must be like the haggis and Marmite of the Great White North, right? Oh well: the yanks put catsup on theirs.

OMG! Ookpiks! I had a cute furry one when I was a little kid, made with rabbit fur and leather, but it disappeared. I suspect that the cat stole it and probably buried it or left it in the yard or something. I didn't know for the longest time that an ookpik was something beyond MY ookpik.

How wonderful to see one featured in commemoration of Canada Day.

Chimo!

@Duplex Frane III - that Rex Murphy comment made me laugh for a ridiculously long time.

For those of you who haven't tried poutine, it is cheese curds and gravy on fries and it is the most delicious food in the universe!

As an inhabitant of Canada, I can confirm that this cartoon is very true-to-life. It's basically what I see when I look out my window, except that in real life Rex Murphy is also present, offering acidic commentary on the ookpik's eating habits.

Hahaha, that is too cute! And if you have not had a poutine, you absolutely have to try it. True, not the most appetizing-looking dish in the world, but it is too delicious for words!

And oh yeah, Canada kicks butt!!
