A question from a non-native speaker (I’m German): is “nincompoop” a real word? Because I have read it only in Calvin and Hobbes before, nowhere else until now. (And I totally love this word!!!)

@Nicole Yes, “nincompoop” is a real word, as are all the others.

nincompoop (n.) – a silly, foolish, or stupid person (via the internets).
I also love “nincompoop,” I use it whenever I can.
