Yes, but I wonder if Tyrannosaurs actually *tasted* like chicken?
(Can you imagine the marketing potential for T-Rex McNuggets?)
I think that’s where
chickens got the bad rap
about having small brains.
What or who is Bubeleh?
Bubeleh is a Jewish term of endearment.
Neuro – Bubeleh seems to be a jewish/hebrew word usually used in an affectionate sense similar to sweetheart.
Although here Doug might be using its literal Yiddish meaning, which is “Little Doll”. That is, the T-Rex might be seeing the chicken as a dolly, in much the same way a child sees a barbie doll.
At least, that’s what the interweb tells me. I’m not jewish, so I’m relying on outside info here.
Doug – I know that if you have to explain the joke it ain’t funny, but for us non-hebrew speakers can you clarify the meaning?
I think it’s Yiddish for “little doll”. So the dinosaur is running up to the chicken like little kid happily going “Dolly!”
So, is this why the dinosaurs became extinct? Since they probably tasted like chicken and were finger licking good, did they eat each other?
I don’t think the dinosaurs were necessarily Jewish. This is still an open question in paleontology.
The major difference being that chickens can reach their mouths with their stubby forelimbs.
HA. Nice 🙂
Being Jewish I got the joke alright. I almost spit on the screen, laughing so hard.
I also get the guilt thing, and sympathies with the poor chicken. Been there, done that…

Thanks to everyone for explaining Bubeleh. (Google’s define function let me down on this, but Savage ChickFans came to the rescue).
I have to admit to finding the cartoon funny even without knowing what Bubeleh meant (there’s just something delightfully incongruent about the meeting between TR and SC (Savage Chicken)), but with the explanations I love the joke all the more!
