I was about to write my other comment here when I noticed your comment, in particular your nickname. Very fitting!
In Germany, “fleißig wie ein Biber” (“as busy as a beaver”) is rather rare, we use “fleißig wie eine Ameise” (“as busy as an ant”) as often as “fleißig wie eine Biene” (“as busy as a bee”). I suppose that you don’t use the ant here is because of the missing alliteration?
So, sadly no third competitor.
