Today’s cartoon and others appear in the latest issue of Sphinx, a magazine for poetry people. You can buy a copy at Happenstance.
And thanks again to everybody for the great comments and emails about the video. Glad you liked it!

Think about all those innocent pieces of paper that have been crumpled up and thrown away from writer’s block!
I’d blame the Chicken Muse, but tis probably wise not to draw her wrath lest you become hen-pecked.
Pencils are only evil
in the eye of the beholder.
also applies to National Novel Writing Month, or nanowrimo.org ..
Congrats Doug for winning the music video contest!!!
Sigh… tell that to my English teacher…. she makes us write in PEN — even more eviler.
meanwhile the pen, is just indifferent to all woes, but it’s own.
Doug, you seriously made me laugh out loud! I *did* know about the evil pencils, which is why I use the noncommittal word processor.
Fortunately you always spot the evil pencils–they have those cheap crappy erasers that don’t actually erase (defeating the point of using pencil in the first place). It seems to me that many, if not most cheap things are, in fact, evil…maybe there’s a cartoon there…
Thanks for the enlightenment – - I always blamed that blank page. Innocent until proven guilty I guess!
