And the yam and hamster dish for the 20-person potluck?

    Yeah, not neutral at all!
    (It sounds disgusting, anyway!)

Hey! Black cats aren’t bad luck–they’re righteous!

I love your cartoons. I’m just not happy that you’re linking black cats with bad luck. (Yes, it’s a stereotype, but it’s not true.) Black cats (and dogs) are usually the last to be adopted from shelters. They are just as cute, loving, playful, friendly, etc. as any other color. I know, because I have two myself. Thanks for reading my rant!

Yes! Black cats are wonderful and it’s absolutely ridiculous to associate them with bad luck! Actually, it’s also ridiculous to associate the number 13 with bad luck, and broken mirrors and walking under ladders for that matter!

The black cat adoption issue is a serious one though, and I hope that my mention of unlucky black cats here works against the stereotype. In my mind, by introducing goofy ‘neutral luck’ superstitions, this comic suggests that all of these luck associations are silly and should be ignored! 🙂

    Interesting…
ladybug + black cat = hamster
    7 + 13 = 20
Four leaf clover + serial killer = yams.

    Who knew!

  6. Wildbird says:

and eight leaf clovers are twice the luck

  7. Zeikzeil says:

    Yay! My birthday’s on the 20th 🙂

  8. Helen says:

Hamsters tend to have bad luck though judging by some of the sad tales of former hamster owners. A lot seem to meet some unpleasant end.

Hamster on a piano! (with popcorn)
