It's that funky Klingon battle sword-thing, right...?

But, PHEW! I'm so glad I dodged #2 and #3, the social stigma against Trekkies is just ridiculous...

I am a Trekkie and darn proud of it! Woot! And yes, I did answer #3. Qapla!

So, is 'Qapla' Klingon for 'You need to get a life'?

At April 02, 2008 6:56 AM, Blogger Allen said...

My specialty is in Vulcans, not Klingons.

At April 02, 2008 6:56 AM, Blogger Stasha said...

Trekkie or Trekker - there is a difference, both could answer the questions correctly. Although Trekker's are more likely to answer #2.

At April 02, 2008 7:29 AM, Blogger eliannrad said...

I answered yes to 1 and 3.

Darn. I'm not even 18 and I already have no life.

I may never own a bat'leth, but I probably should.

At April 02, 2008 8:34 AM, Blogger Gail said...

I don't have a bat'leth, although I do own a replica of Anduril, not sure if that makes me more or less of a geek. Doesn't qapla' have an apostrophe at the end? (OK, I'm a geek.)

At April 02, 2008 9:01 AM, Blogger chikzrkul said...

Qapla = success!

I have succeeded in answering 1 & 3. If I could have answered 2, I would have considered myself a petaQ!

One Potato.
Two Potato.
Three Potato.
May the Fourth be with you.
(Not a Trekkie)

Pretty sure it's q'apla, also.

Oh, yeah. I'm a geek.

My specialty is in green-skinned Orion slave girls, not Klingons.

At April 02, 2008 11:27 AM, Blogger Kero Hazel said...

I didn't realize that's how "Qapla" is spelled, but I'm a yes for both #1 and #3, and obviously I know I'm a Trekkie. :P

Also, gotta love closeted geeks like "anonymous" here. He's obviously way too cool to even FIND a Trek-related thing on the internet, let alone post about it... oh wait.

I would have known what it was in question 1 if you had put the stupid apostrophe in!

At April 02, 2008 12:20 PM, Anonymous Brian Denham said...

If the answer to #2 is "No, because my mom doesn't allow weapons in her basement.", can I still be a Trekkie?

At April 02, 2008 12:46 PM, Blogger Leighton said...

Hmm. I didn't quite get question #1 at first, but only because I didn't recognize the word bat'leth without its apostrophe.

Guess that makes me guilty?

At April 02, 2008 12:52 PM, Blogger V said...

I think it's sadder that I noticed qapla' was spelled incorrectly.

At April 02, 2008 1:04 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Guys, guys, guys...

It's betleH, not "bat'leth" -- and Qapla', not "Qapla".

If you're going to write Klingon, you might as well use the proper romanization.

Some flavors of geekage apparently never go away...

1. Check
2. Check.
3. Nope. Missed it. I guess I'm not a Trekkie.

At April 02, 2008 1:44 PM, Blogger Michael said...

Doesn't Qapla' have an apostrophe in it as well?

At April 02, 2008 1:51 PM, Blogger James said...

What if you answer "Yes" to all three? And no I don't live in my parent's basement and I have kissed a girl! (Many in fact)

At April 02, 2008 2:27 PM, Anonymous Lemon said...

Huh?

Can you do a stargate 1 please?

oh and a doctor who one too!

I'm with you. So I'm guilty of 1 and 3.

What happens when Trekkies fight?
Do you get Star Wars?

4) If you know perfectly well that Klingons don't have head bumps and that therefore whoever it is with headbumps who's wielding a batleth of whatever spelling is not a Klingon, you're a trekkie.

At April 02, 2008 5:18 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

yes to #1 and #3. But I own a comm. badge! and it makes the noise! and I've got a tiny little Enterprise model, and a tiny little romulan scout ship model. And I found out that if was a scout ship with the help of my trusty Star Trek encyclopidia!

Qapla: Hello/What do you want?

I bought my brother a mini bat'leth one year, does that mean I have no life? I kinda wonder though, does he have it hanging proudly on his wall, or burried under all his Magic the Gathering cards?

'Trekkers' uptight Trek nerds who take their Trekishness way to seriously. Should have Bat'leth removed from up their behinds.

'Trekkies' old school Trek nerds. Love Trek and oddly enough don't care what people think of their devotion to said. Run the gamut from hopeless geeks to brain surgeons and astronauts.

Dammit, Jim, I'm a doctor, not a Klingon linguist!! [i'm also not a cunning linguist, *nudge, nudge*]

Qapla! And a special curse on those who refer to themselves as "Trekkers." Long live Trekkies!

Well, it looks like you've opened a whole can of tribbles with this one, Doug! (Not to mention awakened my dormant inner Trekkie.)
Live long and prosper, anyway.

At April 07, 2008 6:39 PM, Anonymous Yoohoo said...

Yes to all three. I even have tribbles and I play Dabo on weekends.

At April 09, 2008 5:40 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I don't think a true Klingon would worry about petty things like spelling. I am a Trekker and proud to be out of the SciFi closet

At April 11, 2008 1:27 AM, Blogger Nathan said...

And REAL Trekkies know that smooth-headed Klingons are just a genetic aberration, stemming from a failed attempt at eugenics & subterfuge that became the Klingon augment virus.

hahaha. I'm a trekkie I guess!
