Ultimate Cat Tree
Wow. It’s a whopping 3″ x 25″ cartoon, drawn on five 3″ x 5″ sticky notes. Can you spot all 22 cats?
Today’s cartoon was inspired by this week’s Illustration Friday theme, “contraption”. Here are more cat cartoons.

WOW! that’s awesome. thanks Doug.

Cats! =^_^=
We need MORE cats!
Of course, a real cat would completely ignore the cat tree and only play with the box it was packaged in.
Chris: you live with cats too, don’t you?
:-))
Doug: I love this so much that I’m speechless. Thank you!!!
OMG, so true! Hahahahaha!
absolutely!!! ๐
Why not? That would be one awesome box! ๐
Out of all your cartoons, I love this one the most ๐ it really sparks my imagination
Chris is spot on lol.
However this is fun. From our experiences the yarn can be replaced by “twisty ties” (the wire things used for bread/trash bags). Nap area needs a window for sunlight. Megaphone is not needed as (at least ours) are loud enough. In our house the aquarium only gets the cats going if we are paying more attention to it than them and even then they are going for us not the fish. All around great job Doug and keep it up. Enjoy your stuff through and through.
love love it!!great job Doug!
Oh and the cat food on the floor is classic and also spot on.
For a follow up with cats now you should bring up the litter box. One of our cats seems to wait until everyone is home in the evening before he is good to go. He will hold it even if someone is a few hours late. How why I do not know.
I find only 21 cats, and I counted three times! Can someone help me?
found it, yippie
Chris is right:))))
Doug, this is one of your best!
so…tall…
Has the aquarium automatic refilling?
LOVE IT, what a great chickens for my birthday!!!! Thank you Doug…..MORE CATS!!!!!

where is the hamster cage?
Where do they poop?
I was looking for the level (perhaps in the basement) that was full of people who are either allergic, or deathly afraid of cats… you know, the kind any cat worth its salt will gravitate to in a room full of people?
Brilliant. The food bits on the floor was a great touch.
I’d like this as a poster, please. ๐
Wow – super!
Ahahaahhaha! I really love your pics!
Greeting from Italy ๐
What I want to know is…did you draw it from top to bottom or from bottom to top?
Whoa. Pushing the limits of sticky note technology!
A rollicking good time of scrolling amusement.
So awesome! Definitely one of my new favourites ๐ Keep up the awesome work, Doug ๐
Perhaps somthing dangly, like the ribbon or string?
It looks like cat heaven!
As long as they had lasgana garfield with love this
and the cat litter ? ๐
I wondered the same thing…
It might be in the basement.
Hmmm… yer gonna need a permit for that thing.
Doug, you’ve outdone yourself once again. So much hilarity on so much yellow paper (enjoyed the length!).
That is awesome, Doug!
Great cartoon! You’ve described my cat perrrfectly. Totally agree about the box – my cat would play in that first.
You realize you could actually market this, right? I mean maybe a modified version, ’cause this’d be too tall for most houses, but definitely portions of this could be marketed.
That’s easy – just cut hole through the ceiling (and maybe the one above that, too).
I love the fish reaction! what happened to the half cat is it on the back side of the post-it?
amazingly simple yet brilliant
:)) great one
Awesome! I’d love having this in poster size!
That’s alot of cats!
love it, doug!! and i like the guest appearance of the chicken! ๐
Hahaha, I love it! Is that a litter box inside the stairs?? lol
wheres the bathroom????
bathroom is under the stairs, my guess
Brilliant! Being a cat owner myself (or more precisely, owned by 3 cats) I can relate. ๐
Doug, do you have a cat?
Cat megaphone is the greatest invention since let’s say… the wheel or-or fire! It’s just that good.
Genius Idea, and so fun to read down, esp as a cat owner. It really suits the screen as a medium as it allows you to really read the image from top to bottom as you can’t see it all at once and get distracted, so can take it all in. Fabulous work.
I think you should try to fabricate and sell it wholesale. Maybe you’ll make a good business. Sorry for the fish in the aquarium but…
Great cartoon and interesting twist to the theme. I can see this in the annual top ten already. Pretty funny one, Doug!
MY cat doesn’t need a megaphone:
***MEOW!!!!***
She’s 18 years old, and we think she’s getting a bit deaf. She also doesn’t climb anymore … ๐
Wow!!!! Great Job!!!! ๐
Great!
Have you ever considered drawing a busy-pictures-book like the Waldo-thingies?
I would buy a pile of them…

Cuteness overload! Doug, if you make a poster out of that, I’m so totally going to buy it!
We just adopted a shelter kitten, and I can assure that there are not 22 cats in this picture…there is only one. ๐
Awesome cartoon! Has anyone figured out what the real life measurements would be? I’m curious to know!
Hmmm maybe about 30 feet tall?
Best concept ever!!!
I could really see my cat enjoying this cat tree.
Keep up the good work.
Laura
Found all 22 cats ๐
This is so nice… I’m gonna share it ๐
Thanks!
want!! (heck, i’d take just a poster of it..;D)
@Chris: That is completely true and my cat to the T. She could care less about her scratching post but loves paper/boxes/bags.
My favorite part is the megaphone. Such POWER with a “meow.” This is an amazing piece, Doug.
whishlist.
[…] Today’s cartoon was drawn on ten 3″ x 5″ sticky notes. It’s my tallest cartoon ever! Even taller than that other cat tree! […]
Love it! I totally need one of those for my cats! The only thing it would need is some sort of advice for stealing food off of my plate.
I just love this. The vending machine and buffet absolutely crack me up.
