The “lady” ones don’t smell so great either up close… Our house got swarmed by them years ago and there is definitely a distinct smell that is not a nice one! Also, swarm of ladybugs = creepy, no matter how pretty they are individually.

But yeah, a swarm of anything is a little creepy. Even a swarm of adorable kittens would be a little unnerving!
