    The idea of Pi day has to be explained carefully to Canadians. It’s not the same when it is put 14/3

      @Bob, I’m not sure which Canadians use dd/mm, but this Canadian definitely uses mm/dd for writing dates. I never say “today is 14th March”, so why would I write it that way?

      And I’d like a piece of Shepherd’s Pie, please. Or a Raspberry Pi. 🙂

        @belphebe, it’s written as dd/mm(/yy or /yyyy) because you’re describing it with numbers, not words, so you’re talking about the #th day of the #th month (of the #th year), ergo 3/14 would be the third day of the fourteenth month. Americans are the only ones that officially write this way; the official Canadian way is dd/mm/yyyy.

        Actually, the international standard, ISO 8601, is yyyy/mm/dd, so both are wrong. 🙂

      Wouldn’t it be celebrated on July 22nd? (22/7 == 3.14…)
