I remember those rad 80s days. 😀
Where I grew up, my school rarely closed because all of us walked to it. Unless there was a hurricane, then we got out early since we were on the New England Coast line.

Substitute Michigan for Ontario, and this was my father when he was growing up.

I grew up in the Florida panhandle. Whenever it snowed, we got the day off — not because the roads were bad, but because we might never see it again in our childhoods.
I think that happened twice.
