Look, most of those are truly terrible… but I would be lying if I said I didn’t even consider the “Old Modem Dial-Up” option for actual use 😀
I’d put those I don’t want to talk to under the puking cat sound.
The cat vomiting would get me every time.
And after clicking the “awesome” link, may I say that karma is your cat vomiting in your shoe in the middle of the night. 🙂
My son (age 40) actually has a modem tone as his primary ringtone. His alternate ringtone is the Emergency Broadcast System tone. (and yes, he’s a computer geek, just like his dad)
If you want “the classic” a bit fancier, there’s always Google Translate Sings: “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley.
Personally, I’ve been using this for about 10 years now – almost guaranteed to be unique…
Wow, I haven’t seen those. LOL. Thanks.
OMG, cannot believe I just got rickrolled. Again.
Oh, and you forgot the classic “Banana Phone.”
Although I’m laughing at the modem ring tone I would totally use that.
I’ve had the modem tone on my phone for a decade. I call it the Vintage Geek Detector, because when it goes off, you just look around the room to see whos a vintage geek.
I use 24’s CTU office phone and original Star Trek (TV)’s communicator ringer.
I’m tempted by “Nails on a blackboard” for calls I don’t want to answer but must on pain of death!
Now post links to the sounds (at least for the modem noise).
I worked in a service bureau at one time, and I used to hear that modem sound in my sleep. Good job transliterating it, I could follow it right along.
… and I use radio/tv news sounders (musical snippets to announce the news), always gets attention!
