Here’s the trailer for Laser Moose and Rabbit Boy, my new 144-page full-color graphic novel for kids 7+. Coming out on September 6, it features Savage Chickens alumni Laser Moose and Rabbit Boy.
I’m really excited about this book! I’ve had such a great time working on it and I can’t wait for everybody to see it!
To learn more, and to read a sample from the book, check out the new Laser Moose and Rabbit Boy website.
I’ll be at the Vancouver Comic Arts Festival this weekend! It’s on Saturday May 21 from 10 AM – 6 PM, and on Sunday May 22 from 11 AM – 5 PM and admission is FREE! Here are all the details. Hope to see you there!
This year, I’m giving away free Savage Chickens posters and Laser Moose bookmarks. I’ll be giving you a sneak peek at Laser Moose and Rabbit Boy artwork from the new book. And I’ve got cool new Laser Moose t-shirts and other fun stuff. Come visit me at Table C3 in Hall 1. Here’s a map!
If you’re at VanCAF on Saturday, you can watch me host A Conversation with Lynn Johnston. Yes, that’s right – I’m interviewing the award-winning creator of For Better or For Worse! The interview will be from 12 to 12:45, and then Lynn will be signing books for a couple of hours. Don’t miss this!
Update: The Vancouver Sun interviewed me about Savage Chickens and VanCAF! Watch the video!
I just launched a new website at www.dougsavage.com!
I’ll be using the new site for sharing my artistic process, answering your questions, and talking about all of my creative projects (including Savage Chickens, and my upcoming graphic novel, Laser Moose and Rabbit Boy). And for posting cat photos, of course.
I’ve got a few posts up there already, so check it out – and if there’s anything you’d particularly like to see on this new site, give me a shout or add your suggestion to the comments!
Thanks to everybody who entered this year’s Halloween contest! Lots of great suggestions this year, and a few common themes showed up: being transformed into a dog, Toto stranded in Oz, fetching broomsticks, and cats dressed as dogs (or being eaten by them).
Here are this year’s winners…
“They were out of tongues, so I had to get a whole one.” – by Peter Janes
“Just a tip, don’t trick or treat at the Animal Shelter.” – by Tim Canny
“Don’t worry, he’s gingerbread house-trained.” – by Joatham
Congratulations to the winners! I’ll be in touch soon to get your address information. Thanks to everybody who participated!
