   Wow. I laughed harder at this than I have for a long time. Maybe its becuae I love Shawshank, and a little over a year ago, I had my dissertation defense.

   I often use “the sis” defense. Slapping, kicking, hair-pulling, the usual. But I usually quote something from the Terminator.

   I think you meant “defense” rather than “defence”. Maybe the sticky note spell checker somehow missed it?

    Robert, I plead Canadian spelling! We tend to use “defence” up here! And, strangely enough, we also use “offense”. That’s weird.
