I’ve been saying that for years! You know how embarrassing it is to stand underneath the love of your life’s window swaying back and forth to music only you can hear? In the end, I just threw the iPod (well, a Walkman, actually) at her and shuffled slowly away with my hands in my pocket.
Thanks for bringing this tragic misjustice to light, Doug. Hopeless romantics around the world salute you!
i’m gonna stare at this comic while i hear this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yvEYKRF5IA
Good one)However, in such situation, I think only playing live will do!
“Say Anything” FTW!
Peter Gabriel is not romantic on ipod or boom box…
Give us Phil Collins!
Does this chicken moonlight as a kickboxer like Lloyd Dobler? That’s what I want to know.
That scene is from one good movie! I can see John Cusak holding the boom box…:)
good to remember
and very true lol
Heh, I just noticed the lyrics – it IS Peter Gabriel. Not exactly something I’d imagine being emitted from the speakers of a boombox.
Oh well, it works!
well, ipods are kinda romantic when sharing the headphone with someone special :3
yup. modernization.
You can get some really nice speaker docks these days…
pound coldmethod86 that was awesome!
I agree Doug, Boomboxes are more romantic than IPod’s.
More romantic if by ‘romantic’ you mean ‘make you into an even more annoying wanker’ then yes they’re pretty darn romantic.
But the Ipod puts the list maker to shame in his countdown lists from High Fidelity (“We’re no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We’re on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five”). To my top 126Mb list The Gabster might be part of the top 100, but what has he done for me lately? Still arguing with Music Execs?
Lloyd, Lloyd, all null and void,
hiding from the truith,
he’s trying to avoid.
