If we renamed coffee to bean juice, would we still drink it?

In my family we frequently offered to strike someone with a hammer (a 2×4 or baseball bat)to alleviate the pain of some other injury of ailment. Say you stubbed your toe, I’d of offered to hit you on the head. Stomach aches would be forgotten after a 2×4 across the shins. And hammers were often involved in potential “cures.”

Strangely enough, although offered frequently, I can’t recall one instance of them being accepted. But it did seem to help ease the current pain just a little.

Without coffee JUAN VALDEZ and his little donkey would be out of a job and on unemployment

As for real coffee substitutes, I don’t like soy coffee but I do like rice coffee (essentially burnt rice brewed like coffee – and I prefer the whole grains to ground rice).
