Oh man, isn’t that the truth. :p
(resisting the urge to type “first!” just for fun)
Wow! This one rocks me.
dude, you make my days!
Wish my ex-girlfriend saw that chart…
Indexed? 😛
The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt. – Bertrand Russell
Thanks for illustrating that Doug. You should have it on a t-shirt. The quote was, uh, too cumbersome.
one of the best ever!
For me the best part is when intelligence becomes greater than three standard deviations about normal (IQ’s>148) and confidence begins rising quickly. In ordinary terms this is called arrogance, a rather insulting form of confidence.
And not to blow your ego up too immensely, Doug, but bravo on noticing that phenomena.
confidence is overrated. Ill pick intelligence anyday.
doug you ROCK!!!! sometimes i think you may in fact really be a chicken…You should post your pic to cast away any doubt.
wouldn’t it be ironic if this whole stupid financial mess we’re in was caused by very smart, highly intelligent people?
who would have thought?
Seraphine, that is EXACTLY the case with Wall Street, in fact that’s what Barefoot pointed out too–the slight up-curve at the end of the smart scale where confidence becomes basically sociopathic. You could plot Bernie Madoff somewhere near there, for sure…ppl on that end of the scale are usually a danger to OTHERS whereas fortunately those on the dumb end are often Darwin Award nominees (i.e., usually only a danger to themselves)!
wow.. this is SO true… love it! 🙂
Bertrand Russell resurrected as chickens! 😉
That is so true and intelligent, although, on a second thought, I have some doubts 😉
As the great Bertrand Russell wrote: “The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent full of doubt”
this one resembles an earlier one:

I know this is old, but I just wanted to say that this might be my favorite single panel cartoon ever drawn, and I am a big Far Side fan.
