crap what does it mean when the groundhogs head falls completly off….let me do a quick google search…DAMMIT its worse then I thought. Instead of 6 more weeks of winter we will be in winter FOREVER…MUHAHAHA. I mean that stinks 🙂
YEAH I WAS THE FIRST HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Good job on remembering this year!
get a head while you still can
and happy groundhog day
I think that when the Groundhog’s head falls off, not only do we get 6 more weeks of winter, but the police must question Bill Murray concerning his whereabouts on the evening of February 1st.
DAMN! Is this like “GroundHog Day: Beyond Thunderdome”?
Oh and btw, I love the fact that the “first” poster isn’t actually first, HA HA HA to you, mademoiselle!
Every Ground Hog Day, I watch the Ground Hog Day movie starring Bill Murray and take a shot for every new day. There are about 40. The slapping montage is brutal.
I was wondering – is this possibly a reference to Wiarton Willie, the best-known Canadian prognosticating groundhog? Or merely a macabre coincidence?
From Wikipedia:
“The original Wiarton Willie lived to the advanced age of 22, and was found dead only two days before Groundhog Day in 1999. The organizers were unable to find a replacement, and instead marked Groundhog Day by revealing ‘Willie’ in a coffin. He had been dressed in a tuxedo, had coins over his eyes, and a carrot between his paws. A scandal ensued when it transpired that the real Willie had in fact decomposed, and the body in the coffin was that of an older, stuffed groundhog. The Associated Press was obliged to issue a retraction on its wires.”
MIKE W. actually I was the first. I waited till after I saw that I was first to rejoyce so 😛 😛 😛
What I want to know is, why doesn’t Hallmark have a card for Groundhog’s Day?
(And what is the obsession with being “first” anyway? I enjoy reading most other peoples’ comments, as they often add to the humour…)
YAY I’m the LAST!
