I expected you to draw something about Paris. Maybe I did not find it on your site. I guess it was important to stand up for freedom — cartoonists killed, I mean… Will you draw something about it?
Hi Mia – yes I haven’t drawn/said anything about Paris yet, but I’m definitely thinking about the whole horrible incident and the cartoonists who were killed. I still feel pretty stunned by the news.
Over the years, I’ve drawn some comics that have upset people. And it’s usually comics with a religious or political slant that have upset people the most. What if one of those people decided to kill me because I upset them? It seems so preposterous.
For now, my response is to keep drawing comics in this world where it is apparently dangerous to draw comics. The show must go on.
