I just launched a new website at www.dougsavage.com!
I’ll be using the new site for sharing my artistic process, answering your questions, and talking about all of my creative projects (including Savage Chickens, and my upcoming graphic novel, Laser Moose and Rabbit Boy). And for posting cat photos, of course.
I’ve got a few posts up there already, so check it out – and if there’s anything you’d particularly like to see on this new site, give me a shout or add your suggestion to the comments!
(Watson was napping on my desk yesterday and while I was petting him, he suddenly woke up and lunged at my head. He missed my eye though, so thanks for that, little buddy! 🙂 I think maybe he was having a bad dream.)
This weekend, I’ll be at the Vancouver Comics Arts Festival on May 23 & 24. It’s at the Roundhouse community center in Yaletown, and wow it’s going to be good. So many great artists to see, and it’s going to be bigger than ever this year. Hope you can make it out if you’re in the area. And admission is FREE!
I’ll be at table H9 (see the map below) and I’ll be selling and signing Savage Chickens books, Cat Adventure booklets, and – new this year – Dog Adventures! And I’ll have buttons, mugs, and t-shirts too.

Here’s where you can find me this weekend!
On Saturday May 23 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM, I’m hosting a panel discussion called “Young at Heart: Comics for All Ages” featuring Joy Ang, Lucy Bellwood, Ian Boothby, and Nina Matsumoto. We’ll be talking about creating all-ages and kids comics. (And you’ll get a sneak peek at the new graphic novel project that I’m working on!)
I was recently interviewed by Sara Zimmerman (creator of Unearthed Comics), and she had all sorts of interesting questions. Check it out here on Unearthed Comics to see what I say about my childhood, my day job, the chickens, and the special project I’m working on now!
And while you’re there, be sure to check out Sara’s awesome comics!
If you have any follow-up questions for me, throw them into the comments here and I’ll answer them!
