Doug interviewed on aqnb
I was recently interviewed by the very nice folks at aqnb. I ramble about all sorts of things: corporations, work, painting, the history of Savage Chickens, and more.

Great interview
I do enjoy savage chickens!
thanks Matt!
I’d be curious to know how much time you spend every afternoon/evening (during your time after work, I assume) on your comics. Are you all work and savage chickens?
It was an intersting interview. And how cool indeed–to walk by someone’s workspace and see your comic taped/tacked up…
Hi Sioux! The comic takes up a lot of my spare time, but don’t worry – I also find lots of time to goof off! On average, I spend a couple of hours every night working on the next day’s cartoon. And I spend a bunch of time on weekends catching up on emails and brainstorming cartoon ideas.
Glad you liked the interview!
I think I have been a subscriber since Savage Chickens was first featured as a link on Yahoo. They’ve gotten me through some very discouraging days working for a not-quite-so-large corporation. I’ve shared them many times with friends and co-workers and occasionally with my kids’ friends, who find it amazing that a 50-something Mom could actually find anything so cool.
Thanks Doug – keep up the good work.
That’s fantastic, Denise! Thank you for being such a long-time reader, and it’s great to hear that the chickens have helped you make it through some tough work days. Thanks for sharing them with everybody!
I can relate to the creative process–I imagine how my character would see/interpret things in life & she also voices my feelings & opinions in her own way. The technical stuff comes after the initial idea. Nice interview, Doug!
You rock Doug. You’ve inspired me to pick up the metaphorical pen again. Now that I’m back in Canada, maybe I’ll finish something.
Thanks for bringing to life the Savage Chickens, they always make my day at work. Even the really, really bad days. Please keep up the great work.
