I started Savage Chickens eight years ago today! To help celebrate, I’m giving away fifteen of my new e-books! You can win your choice of one of the new e-books from GoComics and Andrews McMeel: Relationships According to Savage Chickens, Zombies According to Savage Chickens, or The Very Very Best of Savage Chickens. To enter, just do one of the following:
1. Add a comment to this post telling me which Savage Chickens cartoon was your favourite one from the past year, or
2. Retweet my 8th anniversary cartoon on Twitter, or share it on GooglePlus or Facebook.
I’ll choose 15 random winners on Friday night!
I’m happy to announce the release of three Savage Chickens e-books! Published by GoComics.com and Andrews McMeel Publishing, the new e-books cover three different themes: zombies, relationships, and a best-of collection. Each e-book contains fifty 3″ x 3″ cartoons selected from my favourites and your favourites from the web site.
All of these e-books are available on Kindle, Apple devices, Google, and Kobo. For more details and purchase links, visit my Books page.
Happy Halloween! It’s time to announce the winners of this year’s Halloween contest! Tons of great entries again this year, including some common themes: Shelob, Aragog, surfing the web, tasting like chicken, and misleading dating sites. Naturally, it was once again an impossible task to choose winners, but choose I did. And the winners are…
The Grand Prize (a hand-drawn copy of a 3″ x 3″ Savage Chickens cartoon, a signed copy of my book, a mug, and a set of buttons):
“We’re going to need a bigger rolled up newspaper.” – by Dave
The Runner-up Prizes (a signed copy of my book):
“There’s no time to lose – I think the old woman’s going to swallow a cat next!” – by Dave M.
“Wow, I can’t believe you made this place with your butt!” – by Andy
Congratulations to the winners! I’ll be in touch to get your address information. And thanks to everybody who participated! It’s always a lot of fun for me to see what people come up with for these things, so thanks again!
This weekend, I’m appearing at Emily Con! at The Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver, BC.
I’ll be selling and signing books on Saturday, September 29th from 11 AM – 5 PM. Except when I’m in a panel discussion with super-talented artists Ed Brisson and Rebecca Dart from 2 PM – 3 PM, called Make Your Own Damn Comic, where we’ll be giving you all the advice and encouragement you need in order to, well, make your own damn comic.
Looks like a lot of fun, so if you’re in Vancouver, stop by Granville Island and check it out. Admission is FREE!
And here’s the Facebook event!
Hope to see you there!
