Happy Halloween! It’s time to announce the winners of this year’s Halloween contest! Tons of great entries again this year, including some common themes: Shelob, Aragog, surfing the web, tasting like chicken, and misleading dating sites. Naturally, it was once again an impossible task to choose winners, but choose I did. And the winners are…
The Grand Prize (a hand-drawn copy of a 3″ x 3″ Savage Chickens cartoon, a signed copy of my book, a mug, and a set of buttons):
“We’re going to need a bigger rolled up newspaper.” – by Dave
The Runner-up Prizes (a signed copy of my book):
“There’s no time to lose – I think the old woman’s going to swallow a cat next!” – by Dave M.
“Wow, I can’t believe you made this place with your butt!” – by Andy
Congratulations to the winners! I’ll be in touch to get your address information. And thanks to everybody who participated! It’s always a lot of fun for me to see what people come up with for these things, so thanks again!
It’s my annual Halloween Contest! Complete this cartoon and you could win the Grand Prize:
- a hand-drawn copy of your favorite 3″ x 3″ Savage Chickens cartoon, on a sticky note
- a signed copy of my book
- a coffee mug
- a set of three Savage Chickens buttons
And there will be two runner-up winners, who will both win a signed copy of my book.
To enter the contest, tell me what the chicken is saying in the above cartoon. You can add your entry (or entries) to the comments here, or send it to me via my contact form. Update: Winners announced!
There was such a great response to the Finnish book contest that I decided to give away two signed copies instead of just one. And the winners are…
Ryan E. and Shane A.
Congratulations! I’ll be in touch with you both to get your mailing addresses. Thanks to everybody who entered the contest!
The fine folks at Perigee Books sent me some copies of the Finnish-language edition of Savage Chickens: A Survival Kit for Life in the Coop, so I’m going to give away a signed copy!
To enter, leave a comment on this post, or send me a note via my contact page. I’ll choose a random winner on Saturday September 8. (Please enter only if you can actually read Finnish!)
This is the first time I’ve had a chance to see the inside of the Finnish edition and it looks great. I’m particularly amazed by how closely they matched my hand-drawn lettering. Fantastic work, Gummerus!
If you don’t win, you can still buy it online. And there’s always the English and German versions, for you non-Finnish types.
