Nine years ago today, I started Savage Chickens! To help celebrate, I’m giving away free stuff – namely, five signed copies of my little Cat Adventures book (seen here with Watson the Cat). I’ll throw in a set of Cat Adventure buttons for each winner too while I’m at it. To enter, just do one of the following:
- Leave a comment telling me your favourite Savage Chickens comic from the past year, OR
- Share your favourite Savage Chickens comic on Twitter, Google+, or Tumblr.
I’ll choose five random winners on Friday night!!
I recently chatted with Joel Duggan and Matt Ducharme on Comics Coast To Coast. This was my second time on the show, and I had a great time again! This time around, I talk about: my cartooning process, comic licensing, Hal-Con, GoComics.com, eBooks, Timmy Tofu, and more! Go have a listen…
Some of the specific comics mentioned in the interview are: Adventures in Fishing, Documentary (with the trilobites), Contempt (catnip mouse: defense attorney), and Stomp (Canadian Godzilla).
We also mentioned Comic Rocket a few times – here’s a link to it!
If you have a follow-up question about anything I mentioned in the interview, throw it into the comments here and I’ll answer it!
Time to announce the winners of this year’s Halloween contest! Thanks to everybody who entered – there were a whole lot of great ideas and it was pretty tough to choose. Common themes were: dating profiles, rat/cat costumes, Miley Cyrus, Chuck E. Cheese, and genetic mutations. And the winners are…
The Grand Prize (a Cat Adventures t-shirt, button set, and signed book):
“1 down, 8 to go.” – by Ashley B.
The Runner-up Prizes (a signed copy of the cat book):
“Well, the presentation’s a bit off, but the portion size here is fantastic.” – by Matt D.
“Nice try, but if you really wanted to scare me you should have dressed up as a vacuum cleaner.” – by Justin J.
Bonus Prize: I’m sending an extra cat book to Jackson Guardini, as an award for his sheer determination. He entered the contest over 40 times!
Congratulations to the winners! I’ll be in touch to get your address information. And thanks to everybody who participated! Happy Halloween!
I’m coming to Halifax, Nova Scotia in November! I’m attending Hal-Con 2013, where I’ll be participating in a panel discussion about webcomics with fellow artists Joel Duggan, Gisèle Lagacé, Lar DeSouza, and Christopher Torres (hosted by Mike and Remy from Where Monsters Dwell). The panel discussion is on November 9 at 12:00 PM – you can add it to your Hal-Con schedule. And after the panel discussion, I’ll be hanging out with Joel at his table for a while so stop by and say Hi!
