Wow it’s hard for me to believe it, but I’ve been drawing chickens for nine years as of today. So I’m officially entering my tenth year of chickening, which feels pretty amazing! I am always incredibly grateful for discovering this creative outlet and for all of you who stop by and read the crazy ideas that pop into my head late at night. Thank you all so much!
I like to celebrate my chickenniversary with an annual class photo, showing all of the characters that appeared in more than one cartoon in the past year. See how many characters you can recognize above!
I had a great year #9. Among the highlights for me were this and this and this and this. Can’t wait to see what year #10 brings!

Today I’m celebrating seven years of Savage Chickens! Here are all of the characters who appeared in more than one cartoon in year #7. See how many you can identify!
It has been a busy year! The book came out, I had my first signing, I was on radio and other blogs, and I even did some public–speaking gigs. Plus a whole bunch of interviews. Next year is looking like even more fun: I’ve got a few new book ideas, the German edition of my book comes out in March, and I’m going to be a special guest at San Diego Comic-Con 2012. Crazy times!
Anyway I want to thank you all for making this year so amazing. I really could not do this without you, and I hope that you enjoy all the stuff I have planned for Year #8!

This Sunday, I’m celebrating six years of Savage Chickens! Here’s my annual cartoon showing all of the characters who appeared in more than one cartoon in the past year. See how many you can identify!
This has been a really fun year for me. I’ve spent a lot of time behind the scenes working on Savage Chickens: A Survival Kit for Life in the Coop, which is coming out in a month and features mostly all-new cartoons created especially for the book! Working on the book got me experimenting with new ideas, and I started drawing larger cartoons this year, such as 3″ x 5″, 3″ x 10″, 3″ x 20″, 3″ x 25″, and even 12″ x 12″. I hope you’ve enjoyed the longer cartoons – I’m having a lot of fun trying new things.
